lyrics
I dreamed a dream I walked on darkness
My eyes accustomed to the growing starkness
a shadow passed and it took my hand
a fleeting guide through obscure land
The horizon blended like stockings mended
worn by feet o'er a thousand yards
That we passed together; it seemed forever
'till the line between was within our grasp
It was then i woke, and the darkness spoke
We had shared what few could meet
The sun did rise, and before my eyes
The darkness shrunk beneath my feet
A shadow bound, a willing friend
To pass the day until day's end
Then to the sky it would then take flight;
Just me, the dark, the spanning night.
