I wrote the majority of this standing with my luggage at the bus stop out in front of CDG, waiting for the bus to take me to Paris for the first time.
It felt really good to be noodling around with music in public again.
lyrics
We're human
but we are caged in our heads
and our movements
tell the words that aren't said
and all I'll ever want is a feeling
stretched out on the bed
'neath the ceiling.
And I know
I'm afraid to be still
for fear that
there are wounds still unhealed
and all I've ever said
is we're human
broken; fixed; to mend
to be new again
Back in your arms
here I am again care free
and all of this can all be straightened out with fire
Like caged pets
the walls are imagined
we both fret and search for beginnings
but you can't stop the movement
just stare at the moon and your eyes haven't told
Well I've got a theory
that this world is meant for us
and the only thing that stops us is what was inside
so we talk and we share the fears
Back in your arms
here I am again care free
and all of this can all be straightened out with fire
